Alex Liu

Alex Liu is the founder and CEO of AMIS and MaiCoin, a financial technology company with strong expertise in Bitcoin and blockchain, shared-ledger technology. Prior to MaiCoin, he was Director of Marketing at Qualcomm, overseeing a $35 million per year product line from Shanghai, where he helped usher through a cable modem standard with China’s State Administration for Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT).

He spent seven years with Atheros Communications, a semiconductor startup founded by Stanford professor and National Academy of Engineering member Teresa Meng (孟懷縈) and Stanford President John Hennessy, in engineering and business development roles. He has also held roles with Samsung Electronics in Korea, Siemens in Germany, and Hitachi in Japan.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University, where he was a President’s Scholar and Mayfield Fellow. He has two U.S. patents pending in the field of digital wallet security and exchange rate risk mitigation.
